Christmas happiness!
This year I can't bring myself to blog about the usual Christmas Style that's available out there in the retail world ...... Don't get me wrong it isn't that I don't have a place in my heart for Christmas fashion but I guess I've become a little bored with the annual Christmas fare available on the high street year after year. I don't blame the stores there's only so much that you can work with regarding varying the seasonal designs and its difficult to come up with something new and original year after year.
Now this is good news for my finances however and I'm hoping to start the new year with a little more dosh in my pocket...Ha Ha! I've wondered why I feel like this about Christmas style and fashion this year and after thinking long and hard about it I realise clothes need to make you feel happier......
Christmas can be a wonderful time of year . However , there are lots of people out there that need all the Christmas cheer they can get. Not everyone is obliged to be happy at Christmas. Its not a pre-requisite although many feel under pressure to be just that.
Now clothes can't make you happy we all know that. They can however certainly help us to feel better about our selves either on the day or during the holidays. They can lift the spirit and a pop of Christmas colour can give us that extra glow and all the pleasure that goes with its unexpectedness. The colour red itself is one of the most powerful colours on the spectrum. Its been associated with nobility and wealth throughout the ages. Its the trademark colour of Christmas.
There's no better colour out there to make us feel upbeat at Christmas. A simple red sweater or a red scarf can change us from feeling dreary to CHEERY........ Its hard not to feel uplifted by its magic. I decided to re-use my vintage and fashion seasonal finds from other years this year and haven't bought anything just for the sake of having something new.
There is nothing worse than buying a garment that makes you feel well .......NOTHING!!! If there's no emotional positive response to it then ........DON'T. Leave it behind you and rummage through your old festive wear from last year and update it with an accessory instead. I've included some of my favourite festive looks in this post.
